We are looking for a Support Worker to join our team and provide a person centred, needs led service to adults with a learning and/or physical disability.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic day staff to work at The Chestnuts in Byfleet Surrey, a home that specialises in caring for adults with Learning and Physical Disabilities.

You will be required to assist with all activities of daily living and support the residents to participate in a range of activities within the home and community.

About the service

The Chestnuts comprises three self-contained homes, The Willows ( 8 bedrooms), The Beeches (8 bedrooms) and The Cherries (4 bedrooms). All bedrooms are single occupancy and the homes and gardens are fully wheelchair accessible.

At The Chestnuts we recognise the need for a stable, experienced, well trained and motivated staff who can deliver the very best care possible. We have a very loyal staff team, the majority of whom have been with us for many years.

We are looking for a Night Support Worker to join our team and provide a person centred, needs led service to adults with a learning and/or physical disability.

The Chestnuts is a residential home for adults with learning and physical disabilities.

We are looking for passionate, caring people to support the residents during the night ensuring their safety and assisting with their personal care, preparation of snacks and drinks and the administration of medication. Laundry and cleaning duties are also carried out during the night.

We are looking for fun, happy individuals who can really make a difference to the lives of our residents.

Staff should be able to work some shifts at weekends although we try and ensure that you have two clear weekends a month where you are not expected to work.

  • Minimum qualification – Care Certificate.

  • Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes.

Qualifications:

Care Certificate.

Most important skills are:

  • Previous experience of working in a care setting ( min 1 year ) with night shift experience.
  • A caring nature.
  • An approachable attitude.
  • An open mind.
  • The desire to work with people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
  • Sensitivity.
  • Good communication skills.

Hours

Waking Nights – 9pm to 8am
Saturday, Sunday and Monday (could be shared between 2 staff if required)
